Overview

KMLer is the ArcGIS extension for professional work with Google Earth. We recommend using this module with our free Typeconvert extension. KMLer include ArcMap extension and geoprocessing toolbox.
KMLer Plus also supports additional functionality at description building.
KMLer Pro also supports additional KML 3d features, LOD, pair style and Fade. Create overlays function in KMLer PRO supports Superoverlay projects creation now directly from your ArcMap project. You should only download and install Superoverlay 1.7.x or later and use your KMLer Pro license to obtain standard Superoverlay version.

Quick frame export

Convert all layers (vectors, rasters, TINs) of current frame into Google Earth *.kml or *.kmz files with same styles. You can output visible layers only and use Markers and Labels scale factor. You can use this command also in the geoprocessing tools.

Export to KML

Convert vector layers into Google Earth *.kml or *.kmz files

Note: Export to KML works with current selected layer. If more than one layer is selected, it works with the first selected layer. Symbol style (fill color, outline color, outline width etc.) of the selected layer is stored to created KML. In case you use the categories legend (unique values, graduated colors) corresponding style is applied to each object. You can use commands group, remove, create header and reorder in Symbology window.
Google Earth file path: set path, name and type (kml or kmz) of output file.
Option Convert each object as a placemark: Enable only for line and polygon geometries. For points is always checked. If this option is checked, placemark is created for each geometry object, otherwise the multi geometry placemark is created. All data are adapted for use in GE Plus and Pro. It supports "Apply Style Template...". For lines and polygons additional label placemarks are created automatically.

Option Labels Only: include in KML file only labels with description for lines and polygons geometry.

Determining the structure of KML

Option Group By: If this option is checked, placemarks are distributed to folders, according to selected class legend or field. You can select other layers and make flexible structure as crosstabs with same legend. You can duplicate layer and change legend. Results include colors from selected in TOC layer and structure by legend of duplicate layer.
Option Order By: If this option is checked, placemarks are sorted in folders, according to select field.
From Label field, containing list of visible fields, you select placemark labels.
List Group folder type make Normal, Radio or Hidden children type of placemarks.

Group Add to description

Make parameters to each placemark balloon.
Option Fields values: Add all visible fields to balloon.
Option Search link: Add Google Search link to a placemark balloon.
Option Maps link: Add Google Maps link to a placemark balloon.
Option Feature class metadata: Enable only for imported from Google Earth feature class. Adds description from metadata.

Description builder

Create enhanced balloons. You can add HTML tags and attributes of source layer. Import fields, URL, descriptions from other files (kml, kmz etc). You can save and load description from XML-based file.

Expression builder

Can make calculated string, JScript or VBscript. We can use expression for labels and balloons.

Region LOD options

Create Region and LOD tags of KML2.1 in network links. You can also add FadeExtent. Now KMLer support one Region to KML.

Time options

CreateTimeSpan, Timestamp and When tags by attributes.

Group Extrude options: contain altitude mode list and define how Z values will be set.
Option Extrude: activate 3D group.
Subgroup Based on: include parameters of extrude and button Custom options (Pro only) for open extended dialogue.

Custom 3D option

Power vertical surfaces maker.
Attribute field is selected from numeric visible data fields or directly in dialogue.

Group Marker Labels

make custom size and type this objects.

Button Marker style (Pro only) open window for make custom markers style.

Button Define pair style (Pro only) open window for make highlight markers style.

Option Separate on files by group condition need for distribution one to more KML files. Network link to KMZ (KML) files create automatically.

Option Open in Google Earth
Automatically opens results in Google Earth and zooms to it.

Import from KML

Convert data from Google Earth vector files to ArcMap layers. Support multiply import of *.kml and *.kmz files to *.shp files or geodatabase. Create a feature class for each found schema and geometry type. Add all attributes to new created layer. Stored last output location. This tools supply of two-directional vectors data exchange.
'Import from KML' command supports GE GroundOverlays now. New raster datasets (layers) are added to project. Rasters are transformed in according to GroundOverlays 'LatLonBox' and 'Rotation' tags.

Create overlays

Create overlays from checked rasters. You can stored rasters into KMZ or make absolute path.

For PRO version only: 'Create overlays' function supports Superoverlay projects creation now directly from your ArcMap project.
You should only download and install Superoverlay 1.7.x or later and use your KMLer Pro license to obtain standard Superoverlay version.
IMPORTANT! Doesn't supports specific image formats such as GeoTIFF and etc. yet

Region LOD options

Create tags of KML2.1 in network links.

Export TIN

Create 3d KML file with simple and fast geometry.
Supported options - vertical scale, offset, altitude units, altitude mode.

Screen operations

Export screen

Save current screen of ArcMap data view as overlay with coordinates. Open overlay in Google Earth. This tools supply GE by all current and future web services, who support by ArcMap. All results store into images overlay.

Import screen

Import current Google Earth screen shots as grayscale raster. The envelope of a new raster is stored to current ArcMap project as graphics.

Terrain operations

Get points from terrain

Get matrix of points from terrain. Create vector grid of 3d points from current view of Google Earth. Z values calculates from terrain data of current view. Terrain from GE more exact than "standard" DEM SRTM data. It is exclude many errors by calculate of slope, aspect and other parameters by surface modeling and 3D visualization. We strongly recommended to use GE terrain data.

Z-service

Return Z values for current feature class from GE Terrain. Z values return into all vertex of source feature class. Also middle Z value return as attribute. User can set a percent of loading and altitude's range ("Eye altitude") of a view. By check Centroid's Z only service return Z values in centers points of objects. See flash animation as simple primary example for one point.
